Since being single, my life has pretty much consisted of making charcuterie trays and having meat and expensive cheese for dinner. Sure, there have been some consequences and I’ve started incorporating some fruit and veggies in there, but overall I’ve had zero regrets. Anyway, in an effort to combine my life of a good meat and cheese spread and time with my girlfriends, I hosted a “Wine About Life” party. All of us have had some life stuff happening so if it was the perfect excuse to get together and vent. And if nothing has happened to you to make you want to w(h)ine, a glass or two will make you think of something you do.
I used to think it was super dumb when food bloggers would tell you how to host a party. Then after going to three stores, I realized the reason why they have those annoying long lists of things is to help prevent that. However, in Wichita I cannot find everything I need at just one store!

Putting the Wine in W(h)hine About Life
I’ve been on a rose kick this fall/winter, about three months after rose season kicked off. Anyway, I showed up late to the game but ready to get the most out of it. A dry rose pairs best with this, but I provided three different kinds of rose as well as other wines.
- Roscato Rosso Dolce
- Renegade Wine Rose
- NV Ruby Red Rose
- Gerard Bertrand Cote des Roses Rose
- 19 Crimes Chardonnay
- Veuve Cliquot Champagne
Non-Alcohol
- Kombucha
- Waterloo Sparkling water
Honestly I was so busy hosting I barely had wine and focused primarily on getting to watch my friends interact. It’s one of my absolute favorite memories this fall. Everything was really perfect that night, the weather, the company, the laughter. Everything. I hope to make it an annual tradition to host. I also created a custom playlist that really helped everyone relax and mingle more. The wine could have also helped with that. But I want to believe it was the ambiance I created.
Do it, have fun, drink too much wine, eat too much cheese and be happy! Life is too short to not enjoy it.
P.S. This went much better than my infamous fall party. Ahem. Much better guests. Much.
