Note: This post has been sponsored by Gordmans, but this is all my own GENUINE opinion! Thank you for your support!
Wedding are insanely expensive. Like even if you got married five years ago, I would bet that prices have skyrocketed since then. It is insane. So I’ve been in budgeting overload which has meant an extremely hard look at what I am buying. Again. The first thing to go? Even LESS money towards clothes while I save for the most important item of clothing ever, my wedding dress! $2,500 in real life goes a long way but somehow for a wedding that’s like, a quarter of a sleeve.
Anyway, realistically I know I still want some new items in my closet. However, I really, really can’t afford to just drop money on some items I’ve been purchasing pre-engagement. Ahem. Ahem. Me @ me.
Enter the incredibly timed Gordmans x ThredUP pop-up shop! You guys know I love finding my designer shoes at high end consignment shops and so it felt like something I genuinely would care about. I walked in and immediately found J.Crew, Anthropologie and French Connection all my size and under $25! Even better? I got a pair of tags-on, brand new Lululemon crops that were 100% purchased because I am trying to workout more because of said wedding dress.
So you’ll see more of these items on the blog soon, but I wanted to remind you that life circumstances change. One day you have a lot of disposable income and the next week you are thrifting and that is FINE! I genuinely love this J. Crew dress I am wearing and get a ton of compliments on it. (No pockets on it though, that’s the one thing that would make it even better!)
I also love that because of the blog I’ve been able to visually see what are the pieces that I know look great but also make me feel good! That helped me base two of my decisions from the pop-up alone. I honestly don’t think I could really have a strong vision of what makes me feel like ME if it weren’t for this blog!
Gordmans x ThredUP Information
You can look up your local location here! Mine was at the Gordmans on west Central and located right in the juniors department with it’s own display. I was very surprised at the amount of items across all sizes, including some plus!
P.S. If you think I just wore this once, you are wrong! I posted it to Facebook because it has been the best! I’ve worn it with tights, a blazer, by itself and it’s the workhorse I needed in my close!

Ah this is so cool! I’m HORRIBLE at thrifting, I need to get better, but that’s why I love sites like ThredUp!

I LOVE that dress! I’m sad they aren’t popping up at our Gordman’s but maybe someday!

I’m sure you need exactly zero advice on wedding dress anything, but make sure to check out BHLDN! I got nervous when I started looking for dresses because I couldn’t find anything I loved and then I found BHLDN…And loved just about everything! (With surprisingly affordable price points, too! Comparatively, at least.)

First, that dress is perfect on you! Just because you are saving for a wedding shouldn’t mean the rest of your wardrobe needs to suffer!
Second, I wish there were a gordmans near me, but they don’t seem to be a new england thing. I suppose I can just shop ThredUP online, but where is the fun in that?
