I want to know who the frick made it okay for it to be August already. Not only that, for it it be August 4th already. WHO DID THIS? It is NOT okay. I haven’t even gotten all the way into a pool this summer! (Dipping my toes does not count.) I swear that I was going to make a summer goal list like yesterday and I can’t even accomplish my goal of writing a summer goal list. So that definitely bodes well for me. Plus it’s a good summary of this summer, so many goals, so little time and so many unfinished lists. I mean, I was like totally going to become a marathon runner, be a bronze goddess and and totally be running a Fortune 500 company based off one one interview where I wore good shoes and they decided I was totally top management material.

However none of that happened, although really I don’t know how that whole bronze goddess thing didn’t work out with my skin-tone, and now we are in August. So instead I’m just going to say it’s okay and that I’ve had a good summer anyway. I still got to wear pink and polka dots and throw in some sassy hair tosses so all is not lost.
So am I the only one who has had a summer where things just kind of got out of hand? Or were you a super awesome person who actually got a lot of stuff done?

Ugh…I know what you mean! I love August (especially the hotter weather that comes with it) but it always marks the end of summer for me. It makes me realize that fall will be here before we know it. I do really like the fall, but I want summertime to last longer than a few months 😉

i have been so frustrated with myself for not having spent any time in the pool this summer, so when i was taking the trash out last night and saw my apartment pool empty, i basically ran inside to put on my suit and take a dip before anyone else joined me. i was lucky enough to spend about fifteen minutes alone in the pool with my book before a cute pregnant lady and her guy joined me. i was glad it was them, and not some of my other apartment neighbors, and they totally left me alone (and didn't even seem to notice when i was instagramming myself). this summer has FLOWN by! there was so much i wanted to do, but not really having a summer vacation anymore means it's just the same 40 hour weeks with nicer weather on either side of the workday.
ps. you TOTALLY WERE a bronze goddess! you got that amazing spray tan and were super bronze, plus you're ALWAYS a goddess!

Having spent the last few summers balancing grad school with part-time jobs and clinicals, I was looking forward to having a pretty lazy summer. (I work in a school, and our summer school hours were only 7:45-1:15.) While I definitely spent a lot of time sitting on my butt, I also did a ton of fun things this summer which was sort of unexpected. Apparently, getting engaged makes allllll your friends want to see you haha. It's quite a nice perk actually. That being said, I'm nowhere near ready for it to be over! As much as I love fall, it just means that a Chicago winter is on the way which I do NOT like. I'm even blogging outside today just to take advantage of the warm temps! I'm sure you'll be running that fortune 500 company by fall if you keep wearing outfits like this!
