I was reminded of the *one* (ahem, several) time I was wrong. I now love Brussels sprouts and eat the at least twice a week. Totally wrong about those being gross. I was wrong to say that Survivor was the dumbest show on TV and now I am annoyed it’s not on all-year round. It’s easy to be wrong about those in the bigger picture. However, I was wrong about something else that has been holding my life back. Here it is:
Backpacks are the single greatest things I have ever experienced and have changed my entire life.
It all started out simply. I got a new laptop at work and it’s a 15 in laptop. No problem I thought. However, it was too big to fit into any bag so I was shoving it into a tote bag that created a mess and was super unprotected. I was determined to stay fashionable at the risk of also being a mess. But dang it, I was not about to actually put function above fashion!
Anyway, after about five trips where I was a mess at the airport, I gave in. I started researching backpacks and discovered THE backpack of all backpacks. Thanks to a friend, I got it and YOU GUYS MY LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER! I really cannot stress HOW much this laptop backpack has simplified my life. No longer am I carrying two bags or worse, only one bag and my laptop without any protection.
This laptop backpack has SO MUCH ROOM! I legitimately have so much extra space that when I travel I can even put in an extra dress in the front pocket if I am running low on space. I love that there are so many pockets and the back pocket has room for a tablet, laptop, charger and all my cables! If I sound like a little bit of a nerd, I am about this. I even have gamer friends who are now checking this laptop bag out because it allows for them to basically pack up their gaming station.
I found it when I was searching for a carry-on and this came up from Calpack. They not only have this shape, but a slightly smaller one in the same colors as this one!
Much to my surprise, not only do I love it, but everyone else does! I was in J. Crew and a lady literally ordered when we were in line to check-out. She loved it and wanted it right then and there after I showed her the inside of it. I walked through Target yesterday and got three compliments and people asking where I got it. As soon as I posted about this on Instagram, I had three DMs from other women looking for a stylish laptop backpack. I had no idea that we were all searching for the perfect backpack.
The more I use it, the more I see how much it holds up to daily abuse from me. I shove it into my backseat on the way home, drop it at work, all of this and it’s stain-resistant AND still looks brand new! I love that I don’t have to worry about leaving my laptop in the car or carrying it through the store making my purse AND laptop a target for stealing. Nope, just one backpack takes care of all of that!
The only downside to this is that I do slightly feel like I am going off to daycare when I am wearing it with a denim jacket. I wonder if people think I have a PB&J sandwich in the front pocket that my mom packed for me for my big day out. (Side note: I wish I did have a PB&J sandwich my mom packed for me. Why does lunch always taste so much better when someone else made it?) But looking like you’re off for adventure day is a small price I will gladly pay for being an adult who has their life together in one cute laptop backpack.

Such a cute post! I can’t wait for mine to get in. I’ve been using a gray Northface that while doing all the amazing things backpacks do, was also destroying the back of my dresses. Back to stalking the mailbox…

I love your blush toned one! I got my first one for travel and I use it allll the time!

That definitely looks like a perfect backpack! I fall into the using a non-laptop bag for my laptop on occasion. BUT it’s a thin bag made of a stiff fabric so it keeps it pretty safe, unless I tip it over and it falls out 😉

So cute! I’ve been really into backpacks too! I got a great Kate Spade nylon one that has a laptop sleeve and looks nice enough for work, but I definitely have my eye on these Calpak ones too. They’ve been killing it with the new releases lately!

This is so cute!! My only question – does it get to straining your shoulders after a while? For SOME reason my laptop is just incredibly, incredibly heavy. And it’s a thin one too.
Alissa
No! I literally have a laptop, purse contents and a tablet and its not heavy when I put it on. I will say that having to wear it the CORRECT way makes a huge difference since the weight is more evenly distributed. Does that make any sense? Like a purse I feel like will snap but these are really thick straps which help.

I think it is super cute! I use a tote for mine (with a laptop envelope too), but I have thought about the backpack. I just have so much STUFF.

This backpack is so cute! I wouldn’t have thought of a backpack as office appropriate, but this one is perfect for work. I love the color!

I feel the same way when I wear my denim jacket… my husband calls it my “american girl doll jacket” haha! alsoooo this post just really reminds me of ten things I hate about you, “bianca: you know, there’s a difference between like and love. I like my skechers, but I love my prada backpack. chastity: but I love my skechers. bianca: that’s because you don’t have a prada backpack.” 🙂

Ok, Ok, first off….PINK! Huge long time fan of PINK! And….backpacks. Yes!! I have several although I am now going to quietly donate them as they are quite, um, lets see, quite. Ok, they’re ugly. Not everyone can be as gorgeous and stylin’ as you girl. So sass your sweet puckered mouth shut. Oh and 2nd….those kissy lips! Yup! Ken must be in kissing heaven, oh well we know Ken is just in heaven when he’s with you anyway so that was a given’! 3rd…it’s not leather and yes I’m vegan so we’re not going there at all. My concern with bags not being leather is that I am especially hard on bags. I’m not sure why because I take good care of them. Still the few I own, maybe 4, are leather and I expect them to last a long time. Wonder if we could find reviews on this bag because….4th (what is it about me liking to talk in #’s and talk inside of parenthesis?). the price!! The PRICE is amazing for such a large stylish bag. (Insert witty comment I can’t think of because it’s super late & I needed to add one more thing inside these boring looking yet useful parenthesis!) 5th and never last, this sleek new website it all THAT and more honey, yeaasss!! wowzers, gorgest and love it! smooch! woah I’m tired…by for now!
