And we made it! The end of beauty week! We’ve covered facials and my 10 step routine. Today’s post is just the random things that aren’t enough for a post but still all-things beauty post. If I don’t answer your question feel free to reach out or comment so I can do a follow-up post.
Skincare Podcasts
Fat Mascara – In my opinion this is the the audio bible for skincare addicts. I love the hosts and they just know SO much! They delve into not only skincare, but also make-up, industry trends and even some controversies! They have so many A-list skin celebs and people in the business due to their experience in the industry. I find the stories fascinating and in one episode you could be learning about new trends, listening to the founder of CND talk about how her entire business started because of a dentist solution and raising a wand to the best mascara in the business.
Psssst! Their interview with Paula of Paula’s Choice is required listening. It such a weird interview that was tense yet not and like a car wreck and you can’t look away.
Natch Beaut – Natch Beaut is kind of the opposite of Fat Mascara. Jackie Johnson is a comedian but don’t let that distract you from the beauty message because she is delivering on that. She has fabulous list of guests that span interests like Korean skincare to CBD beauty oil.
Listen to her episode with Rachel Bloom! She’s amazing and Rachel can do now wrong in my eyes.
Glowing Up – This is a new one in my rotation and it’s quickly become a favorite. Ester and Caroline have that girl-to-girl conversation feel and you seriously find yourself forgetting you aren’t friends with them. Pretty much nothing is off limits for them and they go for it.
I haven’t found a FAVORITE yet but all of them are your required listening.
FAQs
How much money do you spend on skincare?
Well, you already know how I feel about details on spending money, but, I’ll give in on this one. You may have noticed that Korean skincare is actually very affordable. Many items I buy are less than $20 and they last for several months. My Tu’el items are more on the luxurious side of things and are the biggest cost. All in I spend about $25 in a month on replacing an item or two unless it’s Tu’el which has a higher price tag.
How often do you get your eyebrows done? What do you do to them?
The reason I found Ashly at Beauty Boost was because of my eyebrows! On my 25th birthday I walked in and needed my eyebrows done and she transformed my face. I knew I had found someone I would love when she was literally measuring my arches and changed my life. Since then she’s been the only one touching my face!
I get my eyebrows waxed and tinted every 3-4 weeks. Ideally I would hit every 3 weeks, but in the summer when hair growth slows down, I went about once a month. I get them tinted because it saves me time in the morning from filling them in and let me tell you, I should not be in charge of filling my brows. I look ridiculous when I’m in charge of my own face besides mascara.
It’s also extremely affordable to get this done with Ashly so going every 3-4 weeks doesn’t break the bank! You can book an appointment here.
Do you ever skip any of your 10 steps?
I genuinely try not to! Your skin gets used to your routine very quickly and it can get quite unhappy when you skip steps. At a minimum I do my cleanse, vitamin c serum, Super Soothe and then moisturizer for the day. At night I do the same but add in some eye masks to fall asleep in.
