I looked at the calendar on May 1st and I knew it was going fly by, but wow. Every single weekend there has been something to do or an event I’m working on and I have no idea where the month went. May is a sneaky month though, it makes you think that you’re going to have a lovely spring and then bam! Halfway through it changes into summer and you’re like okay I’m going to go inside the rest of the season now.
Also May was a month that I am legit proud of my content that I pushed out on the blog. I really don’t know how I did it based on the schedule. However, the more intense my schedule is, the more that blogging keeps me sane. Basically if I have at least one blog post going out, I feel like I’m going to survive the week.

Beauty & Style
I bought this Madewell dress (which of course is now on sale) a month ago but it’s really been in heavy rotation this month. I haven’t been ready to go sleeveless so it’s been perfect for work and travel. There is also a shirt version that I think is just darling! Full disclosure on the dress though. The V is lower than most of Madewell’s items and I truly think is made for a smaller bust because it can get a little dicey if you bend over too far.
Also I don’t know what is happening, but J. Crew Mercantile is killing me suddenly with two of the most perfect cuts. Of course, you already know about the chambray dress. I’m holding out for a holiday weekend sale, but these dresses are all happening. Mark my words. Thank God they always have a sale which helps me not feel as bad about a mini-spree.
- Pretty much anything Dr. Jart I am in love with. These are more expensive than my usual K-beauty ones, but I love them for a super long mask session.
- If you’re new to sheet masks, I always recommend these.
- I hate Sephora sheet masks. They stress me out because they are overly floral and just smell fake. Avoid fake people and fake smells.
P.S. These babies just came home with me. I am very, very excited about them and wearing them this fall!
Travel
I’ve only done my usual Florida trip this month so far. I’ll be going back next Tuesday – Saturday which is for a huge video and photoshoot. I get to do the staging of a million-dollar home in Florida so I am quite excited about that. I am so very excited that this means I get to do a ton of shopping which IS LEGIT WORK! I’m sure I’ll post a lot of photos on Instagram during the shoot. By the end of the month I’ll have 36 flights so far this year.
Television
Evil Genius – I still have questions about this whole thing but we can’t discuss it until you’ve watched it. But seriously, I didn’t expect to care about it and then by the end of episode one I was already committed.
Chef’s Table – The new season has literally brought me to tears. The episode about Milk Bar and Christina touched me so much. She spoke about baking with her grandma and naturally I was hooked. Her story is inspiring but also one where you walk away proud of someone that you haven’t even met. Food is just incredible the way it heels us, strengthens and shapes who we are.
Oh and also, all I want is granita and broiche for breakfast.
Entertaining
I got to coordinate one of the happiest nights of the year. I was trusted to plan out a high school graduation that was definitely just a little *extra*. A food truck, caterer, a custom-built donut wall (thanks Dad!!), cupcakes, photobooth, games, you name it. I had amazing people who just trusted me and gave me some feedback but empowered me to just DO IT. The result was truly one of the very, very rare nights I am happy and truly have no regrets.
The next day I hosted my family at my house for a low-country boil. I was dead tired and didn’t even know if I had enough energy to do it but I am so glad we did! It was fun to get to see everyone get down and dirty and get out of their comfort zone. I will definitely make this a yearly tradition.
Time Off..
I took my first day off of work this year. OMG. I needed that more than I knew. I always think about that Office episode where Pam talks about trying to wait as long as she could before she took a day off and she normally doesn’t make it past January. Listen folks, take a random day off. You come back a way better friend/co-worker and person.
Blogger Spotlight
I don’t think I’ve ever made it a secret how much I adore Dana at The Champagne Edit I truly struggle to find content that I resonate as well with as hers. I love her honesty about everything. I also have serious FOMO every single time I look at her Insta stories. She goes to the most incredible events and I just adore NY life, even the complaints.
I also really love her Instagram because she works so well with Allie and I love how they work together. It’s so fun to see them on their trips and also gives me lots of wanderlust!

Sounds awesome. It’s good that you took a day off from work, it’s always nice to do so.

Sounds like it’s been a great month. I can’t believe all those flights – I’d be exhausted!

I tried a sheet mask back in December that was awful and swore off of them for awhile. But the other day I picked up the pick Garnier one and fell in love. I felt so glowy and hydrated, it’s going to take everything I have not to do one every day.

We need to add Evil Genius to our watchlist – I didn’t know it was a thing until I saw a bunch of people talking about it! JCrew Mercantile is dangerous territory for me lately – so many cute things. Send your blogging mojo my way because I feel like all my recent stuff has sucked – ha! Keep it up, girl.

After this post, I am also spending too much time perusing the JCrew dress section! Love that you included lifestyle favorites as well as beauty. Great post!
