Sometimes you plan outfits for a trip. Sometimes you try on said outfits approximate five times and you think you have nailed it. Nothing could be improved on and you are just simply good to go. Then you arrive at your trips destination and you try on an outfit. You look in the mirror and go “What on earth was I thinking? This doesn’t even look good!” I felt this way about half the clothes I packed for Vegas. I kept on trying clothes that I was so excited about before the trip but something was just off. So what’s a girl to do? Go shop at Zara across the street, five minutes away. And when that Zara happens to be having a massive sale, you let out a little scream and try to not look too giddy.

Shoes: BCBG (similar)
Purse: XXI Forever (very similar)
Thankfully Zara saved the day and just to happened to go with the heels and purse I had already brought to Vegas. I went to Zara originally the first day we were there and just got these items. But then I had immediate regret and the next morning I rushed over and walked in the doors the moment they opened. I bought a few more things and it was the perfect amount of retail therapy for a busy weekend.
After I went shopping Andrew and I decided to go to the hot tub at the Venetian. The main level pool was being remodeled so I asked about where the other pools were. We were shown one that was completely empty and the guard said no one had been there all day. So Andrew and I had the entire pool/courtyard/three hot tubs to ourselves. I had gotten into the tub first and Andrew realized we needed towels. He put his phone back in his shorts and left. He came back and we relaxed for 30 minutes. Until we realized….his phone was still in his shorts. As was his wallet. That ended the relaxing morning promptly. Thankfully Andrew wasn’t too bummed out and we decided to just deal with the dead phone when we got back to Kansas.
The rest of the day we spent playing blackjack at the Bellagio. I had refused to play it the previous trip because the tables were so crowded and it was nothing but older men playing. This time we found a really nice dealer, which makes a HUGE difference in how fun the game is, and I actually won money!

That top is SO cute! Love it, and hope you guys got a replacement phone!

What a bummer about his phone, but yay for winning some money! I've only been in a casino one time, when I was on a cruise. I walked in with $5 and played slots till my money was gone. Kind of lame.

Those jeans really flatter your legs! The entire outfit is cute and simple, yay for the Zara that's 5 minutes away! I would love to go to vegas one day, Glad you had a blast, despite the dead phone and such xD

I feel like that happens every time I go on a trip, I think because I get excited and try to plan new exciting outfits instead of sticking with my old standbys. The sweater you found is so cute!

I ALWAYS have packing regrets when traveling. I thought it was just me. Either way, at least you were able to pick up some adorable pieces from Zara!

Love this outfit!! I would love to take a little trip to Zara π I am such a bad packer… I usually just throw a whole bunch of things in my bag and hope something works. Sounds like you had a great trip (minus the water damage).

Oh my goodness this sweater top IS SO DANG CUTE! And that's EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO! I am horrible at packing for short trips, especially Vegas, because I only think about my going out outfits. Well you gotta look good during the day too, right?! YOU NAILED IT!
Darcy
Oh no!! I hope his phone is all fixed now! That is definitely no fun, but it sounds like you still had a good time!! The shopping in Vegas is seriously the best, gotta love that you found a great sale too!

Love this look; soft and pretty. You look lovely!
Hopefully the dead phone is now sorted- I've done that (dropped my phone into the dishwater; don't text and rinse, people). Suuuuuper fun times.

loooooool! Packing for trips is THE WORST. Also being at college makes me cringe because my clothes are seperated–that means half my underwear is at home, and half at college, and THAT JUST MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE. Wow, tangent. ANYWHO.
You are absolutely darling. The details on your sleeves are a'stunnin'! AND HAPPY 23rd, OLD LADY!

I love this so much! I am a complete Zara-holic! Just the most fabulous things there! My visit to Vegas was my first time in the retail store (I normally buy online). Anyway… great picks! Such a cute look!

I unfortunately do this all the time – take all this time trying to put together outfits, pack said outfits then not much else, then get to location, try to put an outfit together and I look a mess. I'll never learn, because it happens all the dang time!

Love that sweater! It looks so great with the pop of pink!
Bummer about Andrew's phone, but I'm glad to hear that you didn't let that ruin your fun!

This ALWAYS happens to me! I think I've got the best 'fits ever, and then I get there and hate everything. I'm happy you found such a good find on your Las Vegas adventure! xx

Haha I do this all the time when packing for trips! Thank goodness Zara saved the day. It sounds like you had an awesome trip! Happy belated birthday!

I have this travel dream in which I leave my house with an empty (of clothes) suitcase and buy everything I could want or need when I get to my destination. I think that would be so fun. Or maybe it would turn out to be a huge mistake since i'd be shopping out of necessity and not out of want? I'll never know.
However shopping on vacation is super important and I think this new sweater is gorgeous and since it was on sale and you won money and it was your birthday, it was essentially free. Who doesn't love free clothes from Zara?
Bummer about andrew's phone though!

Those jeans looks amaaaaaazing on you! And I'm loving your sweater / top too ^^ I haven't shopped at Zara in probably a year. I just can't bother entering the store anymore. It's always a mess and super crowded and that makes for stressfull shopping which I don't like at all. Anyway, congrats on the Black Jack wins and happy weekend! xo
Jeans and a Teacup
Packing is tough! I had to pack for 2 weeks in PA and 1 in Florida over the holidays and didn't know what I was going to feel like wearing. I end up not wearing half the stuff I pack and just buy more clothes at home too! But I'm loving the embellished sweater! What a great find!

This is a really great look for you, Alissa! The dark jeans going straight into the heels make your legs look miles long! I would have definitely taken advantage of Zara shopping in Vegas too, and looks like you got some great pieces!
Happy belated birthday, too! I hope it was wonderful. I'm so glad you and Andrew were able to take a trip together, and to Vegas, no less! I celebrated my 21st there. I am seriously impressed that you actually played blackjack, I was was too nervous to do any of that!! Sounds like you guys had an amazing trip. Here's to a great 23rd year for you!!
