Baby, You’re So Classic

You know how you get songs stuck in your head? Currently, and probably forever, Uptown Funk is stuck in my head. The other song drives me crazy because I get ONLY the chorus stuck in my head. While I was picking out my outfit for this particular day, I kept on humming said annoying song, MKTO’s “Classic.” I decided to reach into my closet and pull some of my favorite pieces that I feel are pretty classic to go along with the vibe of the song. Cream + plaid + faux fur + neutral coat? In the words of MTKO, “Girl you’re timeless, just so classic.” 

There’s just something about going for the pieces that make you feel good, keep you warm and make you walk down the street just a little more sassy. Really, all outfits should make you feel this way, but sometimes trendy outfits don’t give me that sass. Instead, the simpler, more muted outfits are the ones that I feel most confident. I think it’s because I know that in the coming years, I will look back and these will be outfits that I will still be wearing. (I cannot say that MKTO’s song is going to be a classic, but oh well, they can keep getting those checks as it plays on the radio. I will definitely keep humming it.)
