*Note: this post has nothing to do with the post except to say that if you are a Wicked fan you are my favorite and instantly got the title.*
If you want to make me happy, you have many options. You can do one of the following things: bring me froyo, buy the *right* brand of sour gummy worms, play Fancy on the radio, car dance, buy me shoes (size 8, thanks) or when in New York City you can surprise me with tickets to see Wicked on Broadway. If you are super smart, you will let me shoe shop after dancing to Fancy while getting ready at the hotel and then surprise me with tickets. Thankfully, Andrew is actually super smart and did exactly that. We went to Central Park and were sitting on benches overlooking one of the ponds. I was talking to a friend on Facebook about the view and BAM! Suddenly I had a ticket to see Wicked, in my hand, in an hour, on Broadway and immediately sprang from my seat and started running towards the subway. Thankfully my dress allowed me to be agile as I frantically went running through NYC singing the theme song to Wicked.
Dress: C/O Tulip
Shoes: Gianni Binni (similar)
Bag: Joe Fresh (exact)
Sunglasses: Tulip (similar and UNDER $4!) (similar)
So this is what I wore to see Wicked at 4 p.m. in the afternoon. I had been wearing denim cut-offs with a basic t-shirt and canvas shoes. Andrew looked at me, gently suggested that I wear something else and all hell broke loose when I whipped around and asked him if he seriously just suggested I changed my clothes. Turns out.. he was right, I am super glad I changed my clothes. Thankfully he probably won’t read this so I won’t have to admit he was right either.

I've seen Wicked 3 times, and I'm still trying to convince Chris to come see it with me again (he refuses on principle that everyone loves it…boys). IT'S JUST SO GOOD. IT MAKES ME CRY EVERY TIME.

Hhaaha, good guy Andrew! And he has a keen fashion sense- double win! 😀

The "right" brand of foods is so important. When I was little I would only eat generic Cheerios because the "real" ones tasted too honey-like and weren't as soft. WHICH ARE THE RIGHT GUMMY BRANDS, ALISSA?
You always look perf in blue. Like a sky that's so blue. Or a bluebird. Or a blueberry. Well, those are more purple. Whatevs. You look GREAT.
Closet Fashionista
Awww yayyy, that is so cute! My sister saw Wicked a looong time ago. Broadway isn't usually my thing, I prefer movies, haha.

Ha, that's the best when your significant other suggests you change and you give them crazy eyes suggestion "who do you think you are?!" And, then, of course, they end up being right. You looked fab, girl – love that dress and color on you!

I knew all the lyrics to Wicked before I even knew what it was really about, beyond just the Wicked Witch. That's what happens when you're in theatre in Kansas, haha! I love this dress and the color is perfection, as is your bag.

Andrew is the SWEETEST!! What an awesome surprise!!! Love that color on you:)

That is such a fun surprise! I saw Wicked on Broadway 10 years ago (wow, how did that much time pass?) and I loved it. More than the book, since the book was more depressing, haha.
So even though you were furious he asked you to change, you did anyway?
On my last trip to Boston we made a spontaneous decision to see Book of Mormon (which was really good). I was briefly worried about wearing jeans, but quickly realized no one was dressed up. Both disappointing and relieving.

LOVE LOVE LOVE WICKED! Only thing better than blaring and belting Fancy is doing the same for Popular!! I had an ex who actually put the soundtrack on his ipod because he knew how obsessed I was. I've seen it in Chicago and St. Louis. So jealous you saw it on Broadway!!! What a keeper 😉

Sooo I've decided that we're going to meet for the following three reasons: 1.) you're the cutest, 2.) I feel like we're soulmates, since that is exactly what I would have done given that surprise, 3.) I want to steal this bag. Okay? Okay.

Just sang that title in my head. And oh so jealous that you saw it on Broadway! I've seen it twice, but not on Broadway!!
Pat
What a delightfully fun post! I can just see the 2 of you running to catch the subway to go see Wicked. I've never seen it but would certainly love to. Love your purse, so awesome. You look darling in this dress, casual, yet dressy. How the heck do you pull off all these great outfits? Do you have a secret stash of "ugh" outfit pictures hidden somewhere on your computer? lol <3
Leaving the Corner & Dipping My Toes
Agi mentioned Wicked a couple of days ago and I had to find out when it was going to be near me, sadly they won't be making their way to SoFlo until march of next year….. so I already marked my calendar to be on top of those tickets, totally jealous of you and kudos to the man, the only thing that could have made it better would probably be to have froyo while shoe shopping.

How sweet of Andrew to surprise you with broadway tickets! I saw Wicked years back and really enjoyed it even if I've never seen Wizard of Oz. This outfit is so cute and so perfect for an afternoon show.
