The last time I wore this on the blog I was talking about how I wouldn’t be graduating on time and I kind of thought the world was slightly ending. I remember writing that post right after my advising appointment where I attempted to keep it together until I went home and cried. I then deleted it and had to wait a week to write about it. I felt like I was somehow failing in life. I look back at that post now and realize that was the best thing to happen to me. This semester, as well as last, have been a challenge but one that I have enjoyed. I think had I graduated last fall I wouldn’t have been able to take the time to actually learn because I would have been so focused on just being done.

Plus last time I wore this shirt I cringe because I wore it horribly and I just do not want to go back to those days. I think that as I have become more comfortable in school and life I have become more comfortable in my style. That outfit was a disaster of epic proportion and I hope to avoid having to cringe as much when I look back at this outfit in a year.

I love that you turned what used to be a negative moment in your life (or disappointment) into something positive. You look fabulous, by the way 🙂 And I'm not sure what the first outfit looked like with this sweater, but this one looks seriously chic. I love that the words fade into blue and it happens to match perfectly with those jeans.

Oh gosh, isn't is crazy how you can remember the things that were happening when you wore certain things? I remember when I got my braces taken out I was wearin' purple pants and a flower shirt in the 5th grade. YEP.
Things are gonna be great for you, Alissa! I CAN FEEL IT! Those pants are super cute.

Life is very interesting. You never know what gonna happen behind the corner. If you feel that someone is judging you just know that this person is very insecure. There isn't any actual rules in life everything happens and you never know what can happen in next minute. There isn't losers or winners. Everyone just have to stay true to yourself and be kind, loving and understanding. I'm delighted that you now are in much happier place with your life. You look so lovely and your smile is beautiful. Love those cute polka dot jeans.

I just went back and read your post. Ugh that can be so frustrating but I am glad things have worked out now! I seriously feel your pain with colleges only offering classes one semester, and not the other. I was very close with my advisor (I was her TA) so I was able to work through things with her, but we definitely had to do some rearranging of classes. So frustrating. But I am glad things have worked out for you now!! Also, isn't it funny how you can love an outfit at the time and then go back a couple months later and be like, "What was I thinking!?" Haha I have done that already with my blog. I wonder how many cringe worthy outfits I will have in a year from now!

darling pants! and i don't think you're ever a disaster. you're human. and that's amazing and good and something to always reflect upon – you're human, you have outfits that aren't fantastic, but that's what makes you special, you, and real.

Your shirt is a perfect reminder for all of us that sometimes when life throws us a curve ball a better alternative could be in sight. You always have such a spirit to you with your writings, a confident even when you're down kind of spirit. I think this shirt is a must for you when you're questioning where you're headed, you certainly rocked it today with the jeans and that purse. drool. and those shoes. I love how they go with everything!! you go girl, for the both of us today ok? ha

Things always happen for a reason! And if that's not true, I've totally tricked myself into believing it 🙂 Also, I count 10 toes on your feet, so your shoes must have not been so bad after all. lulz.

Those polka dot jeans are the cutest!

Graduating on time is so overrated. I graduated a semester late because I switched schools and lost some hours. I love this shirt, and I think it is true (at lease I hope so…). And those polka dot jeans are too cute!

Evolving is great but sometimes we have to look back at ourselves and laugh a little LOL. Its good therapy! I can totally relate to you my best friend didn't graduate on time and I graduate a semester before but started grad school way late and couldn't find a job outside of college for a while. Everyone has their own path to walk! Forget about what's "normal". 🙂 Good luck hun!

It is amazing to look back at past pictures and see how much you've changed. I love how you styled this shirt with the jeans. Super cute! And that bag is awesome! Kudos for you for sticking with school and dealing with the change in graduation date. That must have been so hard. You still have so much time for everything you want to do! The world is your oyster (yes, that was really cheesy:). Hope you're having a great day!
LyddieGal
It seems like the top was right then, just as it is right now. And it's amazing how much things can change in such a short time.
Plus, it's good we always learn from our style mistakes.
