There have been a few events in my life recently that have made my friends say, “that’s so Alissa.” Because I believe in laughing at myself I will share these events with you.
First, the ball face smashing incident. I decided to start doing some high intensity workouts and one night I was doing medicine ball slams. I had a 10 pound ball which I was throwing on a padded mat and catching. Well, as my luck would have it, that exercise is actually quite exhausting and by my last set I threw the ball down super, super hard. I knew what was coming but couldn’t stop it. The ball bounced so hard that it came up and hit me in the nose causing me to fly backwards, grabbing my nose and falling to the ground.
Second, the water bottle incident. I had just finished shooting an engagement session and was really thirsty and had to use the bathroom. I decided to stop at a gas station. I took care of the having to use the bathroom part and then decided on what over-priced bottle of water I would buy. I decided to really splurge and get the square bottle. Now, instead of having a purse I just had my wallet and keys. Remember this. I went up to the register to purchase said over-priced bottle of water. Paid for it. Grabbed my keys and wallet and left.
Got in the car.
Drove off.
Went to take a drink of my rich water and realized I left it on the counter of the gas station. I debated going back. I thought about how much I paid for water then considered how much my pride was worth to me. I decided to just never go back to that gas station again.
And that my dear readers, is so Alissa.

Oh my, I definitely have those moments all. day. long. Thought you hit print, stand up, walk to the printer only to realize when you get back to your desk you didn't actually hit print… lovely.

I do things like this ALL THE TIME. I personally think it's what makes you and I connect on so many levels π haha. I'll share one of mine…hope you get a kick out of it…
Last week I got a Starbucks drink while I was in Target. I placed said drink on top of my car (first mistake) while I loaded the groceries into my trunk. I got in my car and drove down 2 stores to the Marshall's when these kids starting waving their hands at me. I thought it was weird but kept driving…then I arrive at the Marshall's and get out of my car to realize the Starbucks drink is STILL ON TOP OF MY CAR!!! I quickly put 2 + 2 together as to why those kids were waving at me. I felt like a complete idiot.

High five to you. Totally had my awkward moments too. Hope you weren't in too much pain after that first incident? Also: I didn't know you were a photographer! Definitely explains why your photos are always so beautifully edited. Thirdly: aaaaawesome outfit! I love the striped top and navy blazer π Very classy! xo

OH you poor thing! Yikes, sounds like it hurt… but it is also good to laugh at yourself during these times (if it is possible haha). AND BAHAHAHA. I would totally do something like that with the water bottle. I just completely forgot about a RedBox I had and paid $27.00 for it if that makes you feel better π
Completely cute outfit btw, love this striped shirt!
Nikki
Oh man you sound like me… I am always doing slightly insane, generally odd things. At least we are great entertainment. A friend of mine had an unfortunate accident with something (not really sure what and she doesn't remember) and woke up with a bizarre black eye. I told my husband and his comment was, "That sounds like something you would do." Ummm thanks? I am fairly certain both of these things he would say sounds like something I would do…
Oh, and I love your outfit. You look adorable, as always!

I love, love, love this outfit–that combination of the rich red, navy, and gold is so pretty.
If it makes you feel any better, I have gym mishaps all the time. Stability balls are such sneaky beasts.

I bought a huge bottle of water on the way to the hotel on a recent work trip, took it in with me, put it up on the registration desk when I checked in and then stalked off to my room without it. It was a really big bottle, haha.
Brittney
It seems that you have recovered quite gracefully (is it bad that I checked your nose in these pics to make sure that it was ok?). I'm not clumsy, but my forgetfulness has definitely led my friends to make those same sort of comments.

Those ball slams are SO hard! I thought they would be easy and after about 5 I was panting. Haven't slammed myself in the face yet, thank goodness!! I have that same top, got it on Black Friday at Target. Love how you styled it with a smart blazer, I usually wear mine layered with a leopard print top…there's something about the colors in that top that make it work well so many prints!

I loved reading your little stories, so funny, but I feel for you! This is a lovely outfit – so preppy!
